Problem:

Global Pricing Innovations were a new-to market provider of pricing and market- access data for the pharmaceutical industry. As a leader of innovation in their sector, technology is the fundamental enabler of their business model.

In order to support a new Product launch GPI had a needed to rapidly scale teams to support the build and deployment of their product, to augment their existing teams and internal capabilities.

GPI turned to Socium to support them with our TaaS solution comprising of a squad of 6.

Squad composition:

UI Expert – Scrum Master – Software Engineering; Angular and Full-stack – QA & Test.

 

 

Solution:

Socium’s teams where tasked with building a completely new platform for pharmaceutical analogue valuation for price setting new medication.

This included;

  • Leading the design work from
    concept through to final build, working with the development team on project definition and technical problem-solving.
  • Introducing a new and improved platform design for multiple existing platforms while building the new platform design, creating visualisation and a new component library.
  • Leading a team to develop the new platform, creating two future-generation improvements from MVP design to version 3 concept.

 

Key results:

The squad was deployed in conjunction with GPI’s internal product teams and successfully partnered with them through launch, and after a period of knowledge transfer and handover the team was able to roll off.

Cost savings

Our ‘TaaS’ model allowed GPI to spread the cost of their delivery over several key milestones, ensuring they could manage cash flow at a critical time. There was also a significant time-cost saving as we managed the end-to-end development & ownership of the whole deliverable.

Total cost saving vs traditional ITO provider:  £84,000 over a 4 month engagement period.
